General Description:
Established by the Chief of Staff on October 12th, 1980. Ribbon sports a light blue, white, and dark blue finish. There are six thin white stripes bookending a thick dark blue stripe at center. Twelve white rectangles detail the center of the ribbon in the dark blue area.


Award Criteria (as Officially Detailed by the United States Armed Services):
"The guidance for the criteria for short tour credit is in Air Force Instruction 36-2110, Personnel Assignments. You have to meet the assignment short tour criteria to be awarded the ribbon. Establishment of the "A" Device on the Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon for Arctic Service Message."
