Ribbon is of solely light crimson in color, the color running from edge-to-edge. Established on May 1st, 1972 and first awarded that July (20th).


Award Criteria (as detailed by various official sources):
Awarded for "...acts of the most conspicuous courage in circumstances of extreme peril." The Cross of Valour is the second highest award offered by Canada.
